Combustion of Carbon Black Using Microwaves

چکیده

Electrostatic precipitators have been developed to remove particulate matters containing a large amount of black carbon that are emitted from ships and diesel generators. In order keep them functioning in highly efficient manner, it is necessary wash away dust collected at the electrode. From this point view, we investigated ways burn using microwaves. study, was irradiated with microwaves after calculating distribution microwave intensity. We also measured absorption power temperature concentrations CO generated process. Furthermore, studied influence O2 traveling waves on combustion rate. The results indicated led an increase concentrations. Although rate decreased accordance reduction concentrations, burned even when concentration 13%, which almost same as those exhaust gas. It demonstrated contributed more uniform dust.

Carbon Reduction in Flyash Using Microwaves

The ratio of furnace bottom ash (FBA) to flyash produced in a coal-fired boiler was historically around 25:75 with utility boilers operating with an unstaged combustion regime. With the advent of low NOx burner systems this ratio has changed and is now 15:85 or even lower. This is unfortunate since the demand for FBA is high, with 100% of is sold to the construction industry, whereas only 50% o...

Combustion Synthesis of Carbon Nanostructures Using Rotating Counterflow Diffusion Flames

Introduction A hydrocarbon flame can naturally and readily provide an appropriate high-temperature environment with abundant radical concentrations required for the growth of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) [1] or carbon nano-onions (CNOs) [2]. Therefore, flame synthesis shows a more promising potential for inexpensive and mass production of high-purity carbon nanostructures than other synthesis method...

Urban-scale Spatial-temporal Variability of Black Carbon and Winter Residential Wood Combustion Particles

It has been suggested that certain organic aerosol components of wood smoke have enhanced ultraviolet absorption at 370 nm relative to 880 nm in two-wavelength aethalometer black carbon (BC) measurements. This enhanced absorption could serve as an indicator of wood combustion particles (“Delta-C” = UVBC370nm – BC880nm). From August 2009 to October 2010, week-long mobile monitoring campaigns wer...

Detection of Hazardous Liquids Using Microwaves

We investigate the feasibility of using dielectric spectra to classify hazardous and nonhazardous liquids. The dielectric spectra of several liquids was obtained with a shielded-open coaxial fixture, and we present a new full-wave model for calculating the complex permittivity of liquids using this fixture. Using the measured complex permittivity for each liquid, we examine several classificati...
